Abstract The purpose of the study is to examine the effects of creative Thinking T.V. Program (CTTP) on creative thinking performance for the elementary students A pre-posttest control group design sub-study were developed. The subjects were randomly sampled from 105 fifth and sixth graders of Taipei municipal Teachers college Experimental Elementary School. Two experimental groups received two hour activities per week on creative Thinking T.V. Program for 5 weeks, one was to watch T.V. Program alone, the other took fifteen minutes for discussion ocfter watching T.V. , while the control group recieved none, all of three groups consist of 35 students. Results were dealt with by using Torrance Tests of Creative Thinking Figural , Verbal Form A and B, and ACT, and were treated by a one-factor analysis of variance. The major findings are: 1. In the experiment of the creative thinking T.V. Program the pupils of the experiment group are sligtiy better than those of the control group in the figure and verbal tests However, the difference is not statistically significant. 2. In the experiment of the creative thinking T.V. program, the pupils of the experiment group are slightly better than those of the control group in ACT However the difference is not statistically significant. 3. Ninety-eight percent of the pupils in the experiment enjoy the T.V. program , and believe the program is helpful to their creativity. They hope the school will of for this kind of program frequently. The pupils still do some thinking on the program after the experiment, especially those who joined the discussion.
