Abstract:	發展遲緩幼兒的早期療育中，親職教育的實施是最重要、最迫切也是最有效的、可協助幼兒的成長，因為父母比專業人員陪伴孩子個體時間長，所以影響也很大。親職教育理念之演進，促進親職教育的推行而增進家長的教養知能，反應於其對幼兒各方面能力的增長。提出親職教育的功能和國外之研究成效：1.Williamson在澳大利亞進行之質的實驗研究，設計－「父母為孩子教師」的親職教育計畫(Parents as Teachers of Children Program)，簡稱PATCH。2.Cheney，Manning及Upham在英國新罕布夏郡(New Hampshire)實施學校與社區中情緒和行為障礙的孩子改進計畫中的親職教育方案。3.美國Orlans，Mertens，Lehrer及Olson對聽障或聽力困難幼童的父母支持服務之研究。三研結果均指出發展遲緩幼兒之家長，參加親萻教方案的參與率越高，對發展遲緩幼兒之療育效果也越高。
