    Abstract: 本文主要探討遠距教學(Distance instruction),特別是新興電腦網路(Computer networks)在教師專業發展(Teacher professional development )之利用。 首先討論遠距教學的定義、起源與新一代遠距教學的典範轉移( Paradigm shift );進而闡述一種以全球資訊網為基礎( Web-based instruction, WBI )的遠距教學環境,並描述其有效學習的重要指標;接著說明國小教師專業成長( Teacher professional growth )的階段、 現行進修與輔導的管道,以及改進的方向;進而指出在理論上與實務上,WBI 為一種極具潛能的遠距學習方式,而且非常契合教師專業成長與發展之用;最後並提出教師專業發展之全球資訊網系統初步模式與感言供為參考。
