Abstract:	筆者數年前撰《許翰（印林）之文獻研究》，即深感許氏之纂修方志，除承襲前人悉心於地理沿革外，尤重視資料採訪要全面而周到，興利除弊，具有資治之實用。又由於許印林與何紹基、張穆、魯一同等交游密切，復等熱心地方史志編纂，提倡「經世致用」，各編有方志佳作。許氏雖未有專著闡述其方志理論，惟其主纂之《濟寧直隸州志》頗能表現其方志學特色，因而茲編以《（道光）濟寧直隸州志》及其助編之《濟州金石志》兩編為主，深入探討許氏於方志此一重要文獻的理念；亦欲提供研究清代道光、咸豐間方志學發展之重要參考。
