    關於殷卜辭中先王名號的探求，自羅、王以來成果卓著，然諸家名號的勘定雖謂詳備，但缺乏先王稱謂使用情形的分析，無法了解相關稱謂使用習慣的演變。本書系統性全面分期統計卜辭所見先王稱謂，掌握其間比例分佈，各期稱謂使用區別因此一目了然，而相關持說對前人的研究成果有繼承，也有批判與修正，將此主題之研究內涵予以深化，足供學界參考。
