    Abstract
The purpose of this research was to inquire into the teaching methods and materials of printmaking currently being used in elementary schools in the Taiwan area. The main thrust of the investigation was directed towards researching and analyzing ways of expanding the range of educational and teaching materials in school textbooks. The investigation also intended to arrive at an understanding of teachers' opinions and attitudes toward the current textbooks and of any difficulties encountered in using them.
Positive outcomes of this research included the imparting of correct educational concepts regarding school printmaking textbooks, providing teachers of fine arts, and solving problems related to their methods. The results of this research will be able to be used by high-level education authorities in setting new standards for course curricula, and in developing supplementary reference materials.
