Abstract:	＜夜行貨車＞是陳映真「華盛頓大樓」系列作品之首，也是他遭受七年牢獄的政治迫害之後的第一部作品，因象徵意味濃厚，而格外引人注目。歷來對於＜夜行貨車＞的評論可謂不少，然而真正就其文本內涵加以全面性的探究，挖掘出隱藏在文本話語下的真實意義，以看出陳映真的思想理念，則是較少被注意。本文嘗試從陳映真創作理念與創作歷程之轉變，以及小說文本的象徵意涵切入，試圖為＜夜行貨車＞重新解讀，另一方面也經由文本的重新解讀，來審視陳映真「中國意識」的內涵與轉變。因此，本文將分為五個部分：前言一、陳映真作品的風格轉變二、陳映真的「中國意識」三、＜夜行貨車＞的象徵意涵結語經由上述的分析，可以看出＜夜行貨車＞在陳映真系列作品之中，因將台灣納入第三世界的立場，成為反殖民、反帝之一環，以順勢接軌於中國意識內涵裡，而成為陳映真闡釋其中國意識的重要作品。
